Dr Jekyll had undoubtedly been overcome by the drug, causing a roller coaster of emotions to ram into him. He was so blinded by the fact that he was able to split his alter ego that he failed to realise that it was slowly taking over him. Dr.Jekyll regrets for what he did to Mr.hyde because at the end of the novel it’s written that Jekyll committed a sucide so that people could think that they are safe from him and turned Hyde back into normal. At the end Mr.hyde has turned normal and has been free.
