         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Nov 29, 1947, Un Partition Plan:</strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong>-The UN General Assembly, passes Resolution 181 calling for the partition of Palestinian territories into two states, One Jewish and the other one, Arab. The resolution also, calls for an international to administer Jerusalem.  The Palestinian territories had been under the control of the United Kingdom. This call makes that Civil strife and violence between the Jewish and Arab communities of the Palestinian territories increased.</strong></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>May 14, 1948, Israel Declares Independence:</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>- In this event, Israel declares its independence and the the British rule ends. Because of Israel's declaration of independence, the first Arab- Israeli War started. Egypt (supported by Saudi Arabian, Sudanese, and Yemeni troops), Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria invaded Israel. The fight continued until 1949, when Egyp, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria signed armistice agreements getting peace. </strong></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Dec 11, 1948, Un Addresses Palestinian Displacement:</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>-Over the way of the Arab-Israeli War, approximately seven hundred thousand Palestinian refugees escaped from their homes in an Exodus known to Palestinians as the nakba. Israel wins the war retaining its territory provided by the Un and capturing some Arias of the future Palestine Statement. In 1948, the UN General Assembly call to, Resolution 194, wich calls for the repartition of the Palestine Refugees returning Palestinian people their homes and descendants. In June 1967 war, three hundred thousands of Palestinians, escape from their homes during this war.</strong></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Jun 5, 1967 - Jun 10, 1967, The six-day war:</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>- In this event, Israel and several of its Arab neighbors fought the Six-Day War where Israel won a decisive victory after it suffered seven hundred casualties. Its adversaries suffer nearly twenty thousand casualties. After the war, Israel emerged with control of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip inhabited areas by Palestinians as well as all of East Jerusalem, and also took control of Syria's Golan Heights and the Sinai Peninsula wich is part of Egypt.</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>-</strong></p>]]></description>

In this period, the enduring image of the Intifada is that of Palestinians throwing stones at Israeli tanks. Over the next six years, approximately 200 Israelis and 1,300 Palestinians lost their lives.  A Palestinian cleric named Sheikh Ahmed Yassin founded the militant group Hamas as an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood. Hamas supports jihad as a means of regaining territory for Muslims; In 1997, the United States designated Hamas as a foreign terrorist organization.</strong></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Jul 11, 2000 - Jul 25, 2000, Camp David submit:</strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong>-In this event, President Bill Clinton convened talks at Camp David with Israeli and Palestinian leaders. Reports suggested that Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak was willing to agree to Palestinian sovereignty over approximately 91 percent of the West Bank and certain parts of Jerusalem. The proposed deal involved a land swap, with Israel compensating the Palestinians with some of its territory for the remaining 9 percent of the West Bank. Despite two weeks of intense discussions, no agreement was reached. President Clinton attributed the failure to Yasser Arafat. In the following months, Clinton presented proposals for both sides, but talks continued without success.</strong></p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Oct 7, 2023, Hamas Launches Surprise Attack on Israel</strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong>-This event started when, In 2022, Israel experienced internal unrest over judicial reforms, coinciding with heightened violence between Israelis and Palestinians. The first nine months of 2023 I witnessed consistent clashes in the West Bank.</strong></p><p><strong>On October 7, 2023, Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel, resulting in a surge of violence. Israeli media reported at least 250 killed and 1,500 injured, marking the deadliest attack in decades. Hamas also took 250 Israelis as hostages. The group cited reasons for the assault, including Israel's blockade of Gaza, occupation of Palestinian lands, and alleged crimes against Muslims.</strong></p><p><strong>Prime Minister Netanyahu declared war on Hamas, leading to Israeli rocket fire on Gaza and a subsequent ground assault. As of November 8, over 10,000 Palestinians and 1,400 Israelis had been killed, with 240 Israelis still held captive in Gaza. Around 1.4 million Palestinians were displaced within the first month. On October 17, the U.S. vetoed a UNSC vote for a humanitarian pause, citing Israel's right to self-defense. The October 2023 conflict marked a significant escalation in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.</strong></p>]]></description>
