What happened here was the Sammanid dynasty became the first independent Islamic country/dynasty and was the first native Iranian dynasty. 
What happened was that Caliph al-Mamun split the leadership into 4, Ilyas is given Herat; Yahya is given to
Ushrusana and Chach; Ferghana is given to Ahmad; and Nuh is given the governorship
of Samarqand. It spreads Islamic rule because now this independent country can spread it without the Islamic Empire. It happened because at around 8th century the Middle East started trade with East Africa, so as soon as Islam was major in one country it was introduced to Egypt. Egypt and Tunisia is close to each other, so it only took one to learn about it to spread.
