These men were known for fraud, union busting, and using violence to gain leverage and political connection to take advantage of other competitors. They sought out wealth and did anything to gain it, they were known to be relentless. They exploited workers and ignored the guidelines for workers/ laws. They took their wealth and dominated over any industry that was pumping out money for example, oil, railroads and liquor. So in summary they built these huge monopolies by destroying smaller companies and exploiting workers, they take what they want when they want and didn't care it was all about money for them.

The class difference between wealthy and poor is huge. Cities were being filled by immigrants and farmers, but cities were unprepared for the population increase. This led to the cities becoming the slums with the lack of housing, sanitation and any other basic needs. During this time  period millions of people have died from diseases that could have been prevented but the medical care within these cities were non-existent. Immigrants during this time were unskilled and willing to work under any conditions which led to them being taken advantage of; they work long hours, little to no pay and harsh/dangerous working conditions. So unless you were wealthy you did not live a comfortable life.

The following inventions pushed Industrialization to great heights during the Gilded Age: the telephone, light bulb, and the Kodak camera are just a few of main ones. Others include the first record player, motor, motion picture, phonograph, and cigarette roller. For example, the invention of electricity brought illumination to homes and businesses and created an unprecedented, thriving night life that are still til this day thriving and making life easier and more efficient for everyone.
