1) This would be the most important TIC principle to me. I am thinking more of the clients I had recently supported. i.e. who had experienced sexual assault. In such incidents, most often they feel they are to blame and they have lost control in the situation. It is important to give them back that sense of control and choice in overcoming the trauma.

This principle is important to me because people deserve basic respect like how one would like for himself/herself. Having cultural competence can promote harmony within the community.

The Islamic culture has specific norms and preferences. E.g. A woman should not be touched by a man who isn't an immediate family. With this example shown, cultural norms can be diverse and extremely specific within each culture. Thus, it takes time, effort and understanding to become familiar with others' cultures.

(1) For me Safety is the most important principle of TIC.
As I feel that once people feel safe and assured their able to speak up and share how they feel and from there begin to be more open to change and advices from a trusted person.

(2) We can implement safety by having more initiatives and care groups to build trust amongst the community. For e.g groups like Youth Network (YN), a lot of friends come out from such groups, but if we could create a safety space feeling, I believe more youths will feel more heard and less alone in their youth.

(3) The challenges would firstly be the fear of judgement, fear of differences.

Secondly to connect people and help them reach a point where they feel safe with people who they first met as strangers.

Thirdly secrets or what is shared being exposed or shared whether by gossiping or to help the person.
