As educators we can keep our classroom open to opposing views by hosting friendly debates in the classroom and keep the students entertained. Also, give students respectful sentence starters to use when responding to other classmates and keep it respectful with no name calling or bashing of their classmates. As educators, we can also let students know that it is okay to have a different opinion of other classmates and it is fine to respectfully disagree with them. This is so important because it gives students the oppourtunity to show students different opinions based on student backgrounds. This helps students to self educate by learning from their peers as well as accepting other opposing opinions.
