         <title>Stage 1: Trust Vs. Mistrust</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>An important event my mother Serena told me was when she was 5 and her parents got a divorced. The divorce of her parents did affect her since she hardly knew anyone with divorced parents. It was difficult for her as her she could only see her father on the weekends. My mother did tell me that her parents never argued infront of her and her brother or talked poorly about the other parent. </p>]]></description>

         <title>Stage 2: Autonomy vs. Shame/doubt</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Stage 2 is druing the the ages 1-3. During this stage toddlers are learning to be more independent. If enocurgaed they get to grow their independence. As they grow their independence they become confident in their ability to survive. </p><p>If children are overly critizied and controlled they become less independent and feel doubt in their abilitie to survive. </p><p>My mother told me she had a good toddlerhood. Her parents played with her a lot. </p>]]></description>

         <title>Stage 3: Initiative vs. Guilt</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>This stage is between the ages of 3-6. During this stage children learn to take initiative and assert control of their environment. Caregivers should encourage and support children, by planning activities, accomplishing tasks, and facing challenges. </p><p>Children will start to think for themselves, formulate, and execute plans.</p><p>If caregivers discourage independence or criticizet their efforts children may feel guilty about their feelings and desires. My mother said she felt like she was given enough independence and felt happy at this stage. </p>]]></description>

         <title>Stage 4: Industry vs. Inferiority</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Stage 4 is between the ages of 7-11. Children who are encouarged by their caregivers to develop skills to learn to work and cooperate with others. They learn they can use their skills to complete tasks and feel competent in their ability achieve their goals. </p><p>If children are anot allowed to demenstrate their skills they may feel a sense of inferiority. My mother told me she felt like she fit in the industry part.</p>]]></description>

         <title>Stage 5: Indentity vs. Confusion</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>This stage is during the years 12-18. If given the support adolescents are givent the ability to explore different roles and their identity. They will begin to explore their interests, values, and goals. This helps them form their own unique identity. If adolecents are not allowed to explore their identity will find the process overwhelming and distressing. My mother said her parents where strict, which was the norm during the time. She did have some rome to explore who she was but wished she was given more freedom to explore. </p>]]></description>

They learn to form close bonds and are comfortable with mutual dependency.  Individuals who struggle may have unresolved identity crisies. During this time my mom got married at 29. She has a very happy marriage and feels happy with her life. </p>]]></description>

They may be raising children, or contributing to positive changes.  Adults might be in stagnation where they don't feel like they are contributing and have a sense of emptiness. My mother feels like she has succeded a lot in her life. She feels like she mad a positive change in her life. With raising 3 children she is happy in her life. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Stage 8 is the last stage and it is at 65-death. Individuals feel like they have lived a fulfiling and meaningful life. Individuals might feel regret, and dissapointment in their life and have a fear of death. My mother doesn't think she will ever fear Despair. She know she has lived a fulfiling and meaningful life so far and does not fea what comes next. </p>]]></description>
