🧡🎄Paige Michael Festival of Trees

I'm volunteering with the Paige Michael Foundation to plan a Festival of Trees event that will take place the weekend after Thanksgiving. The event will include a craft fair, activities for children, blood drive, raffles and the highlight of the event - a variety of decorated trees.

I was hoping you could share this with your NHS students as an opportunity for volunteer hours. We could use help with providing children's activities, groups of students to decorate a tree, or just general day-of support.

ONGOING: They are looking for help with invasive species removal, helping tend to tree tubes that get knocked down by mowers, etc. The organization is located in the Eastern half of the school district and did the largest tree planting in PA this year. 🍽️❤️OPC Community Food Box Packing/Delivery

Food Box Packing. Friday December 12th 6:30 PM until finished (usually no later than 8 PM.)
Food Box Distribution. Saturday December 13th 8:45 AM to noon. Most of our families pick up their food box using a drive through pick up process. These students will help by getting boxes outside, loading into vehicles, etc. If the students have extra time and can stick around they can also help us take any left over boxes to NSC. (Don't need a car, can just help with loading and unloading.)
Food Box Delivering. Saturday December 13th 9:00 am until done (usually by 11:00 depending on how many groups of volunteers we get and how many deliveries we have to make). Please make sure that the students understand that one person in their group needs to have a valid drivers license that allows them to have 1 or 2 other persons in the car with them and a vehicle that they can use to make the deliveries. Also note, if a student wants to do this with a parent or other family member they are more than welcome to do that as well. Interact/Rotary has invited NHS to help with their monthly Project Cure day - the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 4-6pm through June. Interested?

1. You must pre-register online a few days before the event, so the on-site director knows how many volunteers to anticipate:

High School volunteers are needed to help at Nottingham school field day. Please email Mr. Wilmot (PE Teacher) ASAP if you plan to help: swilmot@oxfordasd.org.

You must complete this permission slip and return when you report to the Nottingham main office for the event. This event is approved for fall service hours for school service.

Do not forget to get signatures!! A good idea is to keep a digital copy of service log that can be accessed and marked up/signed on your phone before you leave the event!!
