Today me and the men in the tribe went hunting. We say a herd of horses. We made a plan. Since they were out in the meadow we wanted to attack from all sides. The horses that escape we leave alone and the ones left aside we will kill. A Lot escaped from fright. But we managed to get a foal. We brought the meat back and cooked it with our tool. Fire! The leader used some flint to start it up.Leader almost choked on the meat too! What a laugh. I was inspired by today so I decided to paint a horse with its foal in red. The red represents the life we took from the foal. And how the mom escaped. Our stone tool helped kill the foal witch was covered in blood. I tried to paint it like they where running but t didn’t turn out like that sadly.

Today I went to explore the forest in my free time. I went with my dog and my brother. We found a surprising body of water. We went around some bushes and found lots of animals like deer and rabbits. We both looked at us and said that we would have lots of food for the future. We went to hunting and we brought it to the cave. I wondered what these things on the wall were, I figured out that they were paintings. I wanted to do one a I got some red blood one my stick and made one of the body of water.

Today I went hunting with my friend, brother, dad and other brother. We saw a canyon and decided to check for animals. We saw a gigantic herd of bulls in the canyon we decided to set a trap. My brother went back to get more of the tribe members to help us catch them. We already had the trap ready and we dropped the boulders and threw our spears and caught4 of them. 2 of them escaped badly hurt the other two were still there and much bigger. WE got back to camp and I used some of the blood and water combined to paint many bulls with two injured running and three on the ground with a giant boulder running after them and hitting 6 more of them. I also painted a reindeer because I caught 2 and one got away from me. the bulls there were so many that I painted and it took all of the blood from of the bulls that I caught that day while I was out hunting before winter started and there would be very little prey.

Cameron

Today the boys and I went out to find food for the tribe. We traveled far and wide and we got lucky and got lots of meat to take back to the tribe. On the way back one of our men got a cold so we had to stop for the night until he got better. We found some shelter in a small cave. While we were waiting for our brother to get better, we decided to leave behind our markings that proved the cave was claimed so no other tribes could take it from us. We ground up some local flowers and rocks in the nearby stream to make paint, then after we had all the paint ready to paint, we were faced with a problem: what should we paint about? Then we had an idea. We should paint about our adventures and unusual things we saw during our trip. We started painting. We painted all through the night while our brother slept and got better, we were painting. Right before sunrise we were done with our painting, our masterpiece was finished, and we stood back and gave ourselves a pat on the back. When we got back to the tribe everyone was thankful to see us with all the food we could carry and it was crucial to our survival that we got the food and marked the cave because the next day gave the first sight of winter so when we needed shelter we could always go back to our cave.

Today I went hunting with my family. We went to the huge pond to get water so we can have more energy to hunt. As I went down to take a sip I heard a rustling sound in the bushes. I crouched and walked over silently. Once I got super close I threw my spear at the bush. I heard a screeching sound I heard footsteps running away. I chased it. I ran as fast as I could go but the animal was too fast. I saw tracks of the animal I hit but then they stopped. I went to look around and that is when I saw a moose with huge antlers laying there with a puddle of blood under it. I had to put it out of its misery. I threw my spear at it and it did one last moo and died. I had to carry it back to the pond where my family was so they could help me carry it to the tribe. So I cut it up into pieces and put the organs in a pouch I made the day before. Once I got back my family wasn't there! I ran around looking for them but no sign of anyone. I guessed they went back to our cave so I went there. Thats where I saw them. Eating Rabbit and they were all full which made me feel mad because I just chased a moose through the woods and had to kill it. I showed them the moose but seemed like they didn't have any interest in what I just killed. I told them that there was more moose for me and that they would miss out but they didn't seem to care. The next day they asked me if I had any moose left over and I said yes but they had to get it themselves. Next time I am going to make them run through the woods to chase a moose for food to show how hard it was to catch and kill. We all ate the moose fo the next week or so and it tasted super good. If I could chase a moose for this good of a taste I would do it again. We went back to our cave and I decided to paint a mural of me chasing the moose in the woods with a spear. Now this event and mural gave us memories of the time I chased a moose through the woods to get food for our tribe. The mural was a beautiful picture to remember throughout our generations.

Rhys Williams

Head of a bull

Hi, I just got back from a crazy hunt. We got two big bold bulls, plenty of food to last us weeks. This is how people today view the head of a bull painting I did. But first let me take you back in the olden days AKA yesterday. So I was bored. That's how I decided to paint this, yep bored. Fun fact if you asked your parents today what to do when you were bored they would say do chores, or clean your room. I just went looking around outside for some sort of tool and do you want to know what I found a itty-bitty stick. Wow, the best tool I had ever found for a painting. When I got back to the cave, I had to search for the perfect spot for my bull head. I decided I would paint it up high with no other paintings beside it. I grabbed my stick and started to paint a line before long I realized this tool was terrible for drawing lines. But it was amazing at drawing dots.

I knew it, I knew what I was going to do! I was going to draw the head of a bull with dots! I started out making the dot slowly but then got the hang of it and sped up. I had to do a few layers of dots to make it look like a line. That painting actually only took me 3-4 hours. Okay now back to what people think I did painting. "....The line was created by a series of dots sufficiently close together to simulate continuity. This technique is effective for basic segments such as the forehead, muzzle and chin..." They were pretty much correct, like I explained I made it with a series of dots because my tool couldn't draw lines in the hard rock. After I finished the painting I went and snuck some meat. I mean I need to eat especially after 3-4 hours of HARD work. So I brought my meat over to the entry of the cave, sat down and watched the beautiful sunset go down.
Kate Stewart

Today I went hunting with my dad. As we ran around a broad, green field we had found, we saw 3 lions circling a bison. My dad and I are smart so we waited behind a rock until the lions had killed the prey, then we would scare the lions off and bring the bison back to our home. The lions had now killed it's prey and we started running at them, spears over our heads, making as much noise as possible. All three lions looked at us, and ran off. We saw the bison on the ground dead. Then, we collected as much of it as possible and strolled back home, elated with joy. Our whole tribe got a good eat out of this big deer. Later that night, I was walking around our cave and accidentally stepped on a rock. Red powder came out of it. I realized that this was one of the rocks the elders used for painting. I picked up a paintbrush next to it, and decided to start painting the bison that we had found earlier. I painted it right next to the two horses. I thought it looked perfect.

Tanner

Today I was hunting trying to get some food for my family when I heard a loud rustling noise. When I followed it I saw a big brown cow sitting out in the open. I was so surprised I almost forgot that I was hunting! But, when I came up yo the cow nstead of being oazy it started to attack me. After a few minutes, we had started a battle. The cow had gotten injured, but I had much worse. I was gushing blood from my neck where the ow kicked me! Finally, I injured the cow so much that it w\fell over. When I returned home with the meat my family helped me clean up my wounds. Then I decided to paint a painting so I can remember that epic battle. It took hours of red, brown, and black paint until it was finished. It was a moment I would never forget!

Maeve McCashin Today was a blazing hot day, we were running out of food supply for our family. So me and my Dad went out to go hunting. And by the way I do not like hunting. My stomach always gets this weird feeling, it feels like my stomach is dropping and I feel weak. Then just out the corner of my eye I spotted a dear. It looked fierce, it did not seem intimidated by us. My Dad started throwing arows at the dear while the dear was charging at my Dad. On my hand I snuck up behind the deer and stab it. At that moment we brought the deer back to our cave to feed to our family. THE END

I could see a blob far away are started sprinting and hiding then sprinting then hiding to have the element of surprise my tool held tight between my fingers. As I got close it ran I started to chase after it as I lost my secret identity. I was to slow. I found a cave to keep warm until i should go out again but then I saw paintings scattered across the walls. I told myself I could do that to. I grabbed some mud and mixed it some dry mud to make yellow and then I saw some darker blackish mud and painted that horse I saw that day. - Eli Logan

My tribe started yelling and passing notes about someone named a bull. Then they told me that animal was a bull. All my tribe attacked the bull trying to get our next meal but it ran away. They chased it and chased it and then found a whole herd! So it was us vs them. I didn't want to eat that for my meal. I wanted to paint it in our cave. I took some dark brown pigment and a brush and began. I started with the head painting long bold strokes and then, I did the body finishing it off with two horns. I drew one eye with dots around it. I stepped back. I WAS PROUD. I showed the rest of the tribe who had killed one of them. There was a good painting and a good lunch.

I went outside to grab a new stick and leaf to use as a paintbrush and gathered all of my colors. I wanted to use red, yellow, and a brownish black. I started at the head and went down to the legs with just the outline, I then did the detail. This was by far the hardest animal I have ever painted but it also might be my best. I worked on this painting for two hours today and I am getting super tired of it so I think it would be best to pause for now and start back up tomorrow.

I just love horses. They are so fast and beautiful, and they are very fun to draw. But today, I saw a very surprising thing. Instead of a group of normal horses, galloping around, I saw a group of tiny horses galloping around. I saw black horses, and a brown horse, and some spotted horses. They were also tiny, I'd never seen a group of tiny horses before. It's very odd. So I decided to find a word for this. So after some searching and some confuddling thinking, I found a word: FRIEZE. It's a very good name. Anyway, since a frieze of small horses was so odd, I decided to draw it. Maybe people would think it was odd too.

Today, I return to the vast cave, looking for a place to paint. While I search, I look at the many paintings already made by my friends. There are some horses and some bison, and.. oh! There's a good vacant space between the horses! That's where I'll paint! I start remembering the days I've experienced, Hunting, bonding, I try to remember it all. Then I remember that big black cow we ate a few sunsets ago. It was so filling, it's a wonder we all managed to finish it. I even helped hunt down the magnificent cattle! I decided to settle on drawing the black cow. I recalled its horns, its legs, its huge, long body. After a few long moments, I finished and gazed back at the painting. I wondered if my descendants would find my painting and wonder what it meant. I could tell them it was tasty. Satisfied with the cow, I exited the cave and started feasting on the meat our hunters brought back, telling others about the wonderful cow - Nathanael Lee

One day I was coming back to the village after fishing. On the way I pass a beautiful meadow. In the meadow was a horse, the most radiant horse in the world. The horse had a sleek brown coat and deep black eyes. I took one look and rushed off the the caves. I knew that horse had been there for a reason to be painted into history. I took my painted even though it took me day and night I was deticated to finishing that horse. So I did, every day after I finished I waited for the horse to come back, but it never did.

I am getting tired so I go to sleep thinking I’m going to do it tomorrow so I can get some rest. When I wake up I go straight to the walls of the caves find an open spot and start to paint.
the falling cow by Fiona harty I am tired,Exhausted from my hunt. I caught enough to feed my family for only a day, But at least I got food, that was enough. It was time to fantasize. I like to do that because then I could imagine what I could have caught but didn't, I went to the wall and started drawing.I drew a cow, a big one being caught in one of my ingenuse traps I imagined how happy my family would be if a caught that cow, instead of just a small reindeer I always feel so disappointed after I came home with barely any meat, but at least we have food unlike some other groups.

I slept under the tree. Well, not sleeping, but, more like, half awake. I wished I could hunt. The boys got to do EVERYTHING. I mean, seriously. I had slept here every day, thinking about this. Only boys where allowed in the caves. They got to draw. Earlier that day, my brothers and their friends laughed at me when I tried to catch a rabbit. They called me names, and shoved me around. I won't bore you with the details. But, little did they know, I had been doing all sorts of stuff, like running at night, climbing trees, and other stuff. They had NO idea. But, I just let them shove me. I couldn't blow my cover, yet. I heard my brothers going off on a night hunting trip. I slipped out of my sleeping furs, walking over to the dying coals of the fire. I picked up a branch, and lit it with the coal. I walked quietly into the cave, taking with me my oldest brother's paints. I crept in, and silently found an empty space. I started painting small horses. I only made five of them, and, to be honest, they weren't the best. I crept out, and smothered the torch. I rolled up my sleeping furs. " Hey, you!!" came a voice from behind me. "You should be asleep!!" I froze, recognizing the leader's voice. I heard other men shouting. My instincts kicked in. I ran as fast as I could. The men wore thick, heavy furs, in case the got caught in snowstorms. The women wore light dresses. I had been training, and they all where slower than me. I ran and ran, until it was almost morning. Then, I saw a field of grass, and ran inside. The men weren't following me, and I was very far away. A sleeping reindeer family was right in front of me. They didn't wake up, so, being tired, I curled up right next to them.

Home sweet cave. I think to myself as I walk into my painting cave. I come here every day to paint stories of a warrior girl, who is respected by men and women alike. I like to draw her as a hunter, as a fighter, and so much more! She is my hero, and I hope to be her someday. And I know I'm a girl, but that doesn't mean anything. Anyways, I love to paint, it is the only thing that gives me joy! So as I take my brush I think of what I will paint Warrior Girl doing today. I start with her waking up, gathering nuts for breakfast, I paint her making a fire, and roasting the nuts slightly, I paint Warrior Girl gathering berries, I paint her jumping in the water by her cave, which she lives in by herself, I paint her painting pictures of me, and I paint her hoping one day that one day I will become the next Warrior Girl. Oh no! I have run out of paint! As I come back, I hear happy sounds in my cave! I know no one except me knows about it! I run, splattering paint everywhere. As I finally reach my cave I see boys painting in my cave, and I think, maybe I can share my painting space if they like to paint too. I do get lonely sometimes! But no. They are painting over Warrior Girl, and are making her get killed in everything she does. I see her burn up while trying to make fire, I see her eat poisonous plants on a walk, I see her getting torn apart by creatures in the lake, and I'll spare you the rest, basically they were destroying my only joy. Almost. Then the tears come, I can't help it! They are ruining my hard work! They hear me, turn, and laugh. As they mockingly soothe me, they also say that they caught me training. Yes, I train. For what, you may ask? I train to be Warrior Girl, and I do it secretly so that I won't get in trouble with the tribe, or at least I thought it was secret.

One of my most satisfying paintings. are the hall of the bulls. I use homemade paintbrushes and speak my mind., only painting. It has lots of animals specifically 36. And the rest of my species helps me paint theses as well. To the left of it is the unicorn panel. It has really fascinating creatures in the painting. I like to stare at each one until I think they are good enough. Usually I paint the whole wall, and rest at dawn. The next morning the paintings have dried and you can smell the fresh herbs of the paint. Everybody gathers around to look at it. I paint another wall the next day.

I decided to draw a bison. I have drawn many of them before, but I’m best at drawing them so I like to do them the best. I start with the head then I work my way down to the stomach then the feet. I don’t really care for much detail. I'm tired but I still just want to do it. I finished it up, wonderful I tell myself, a masterpiece. A sharp yell comes from the cow whose leg I just stabbed with my mighty spear. He falls to the ground unable to escape. My friend packs up some meat to bring back to the cave and I feel joyful at my kill. This would be a great moment to paint back at home, I think to myself. When we get home I want to paint but I just feel so tired from all the running around and hunting today. As I close my eyes I wonder If I'd have had dinner tonight if I didn't get the kill earlier and I'm very proud of myself. The first thing I'm gonna do tomorrow is paint my amazing day!

The Upside-Down Horse

I sit in the center of the cave staring at the walls. Paintings cover the stone, but not one is made by me. But I really want to make one! So I pick up a stick and some paint from the far corner and think about what I should draw. Hmm, well I want my painting to be way different than anyone else. A bull? Nah, there are lots of bulls. A horse? No such luck there either. Then a thought strikes me. What about a horse that is upside-down! I search around the rough rocks looking for a perfect spot. Ah-ha! There is an alcove with the perfect shape for my horse. I start off by painting the head in tan paint, and then the mane in black paint. Eventually I finish. I stand back and look at my work. Wow! That looks different. Proud of myself, I step out of the cave.

Im a crowmagnon and I live in upper Africa. When I'm bored, I like to go and hangout in the cave. Its' called the Shaft. In the Shaft, I love to paint, some of my most famous paintings are the Man and the Bird, Bison, and the Rhinoceros. To the left of the painting is the Apse and to the right is the passage way. I get inspiration from the other cave drawings. I love to paint! One day, I went hunting with my father and we saw beautiful views and some really cool animals! When I got back home I rushes to the cave and drew everything I saw the day before.
-Alessa
