Nick Cassavetes was born in New York City, the son of actress Gena Rowlands and Greek-American actor and film director John Cassavetes. After spending so much of his youth surrounded by the film industry. He wanted to be in the film industry but instead, he decided to follow his dream playing basketball, under his father's wishes. But, His athletic career was effectively ended by an injury, and he decided to rethink his aspirations, He than attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York.

The reason why I picked this movie is because this movies shows so much suffering and relates to the struggle of every parents when a child is sick. The main character Kate, who has cancer, suffers every day as she is only 17 years old and is dying, her mom and sister Sara(Mom)and Anna(sister) deal with the struggle of keeping Kate alive. This movie really touches with reality on how people struggle everyday with how to live life when a loved one is sick.

Everyday, people suffer with mental illnesses, depression, anxiety and the main one, death of a lost one due to cancer or an accident. Suffering is a normal every day thing that people go through, but it shouldn't be something they should feel all the time. Movies today, are always based on someone who is suffering, but at the end of the day, the begin to find themselves and they feel happy. Like in this movie, when Kate passes, her family is devastated but, they know that she is in a better place and they did everything they could. They know that Kate is happier and is no longer suffering.
