Both seem to have a good marriage with a structured and repetitive lifestyle. Mary is pregnant waiting for her husband to come home and when he does she feels very happy. Patrick then starts to act strange and different which scares Mary.

Mary strikes Patrick from behind with the lamb hard on the head which kills him. Realizing what she's done, Mary decides to cover her tracks for the concern of her unborn baby. She then began to cook the lamb chop and went to the grocery store to get an alibi.
