Co-teaching and planning is a wonderful thing if everyone is on the same page. It is important to communicate with everyone in a honest but professional way. Get to know your team members and let each other know what everyone's strengths are and utilize them! I believe that one of the most important things is to stay organized as a team. Nobody likes to wait on others or arrive to school the morning of, and being unsure if a team member will pull through with the lesson resources. It is important to switch roles so that it's not one person who is in charge of the same subject every single time (unless that is what your team prefers. The bottom line is to respect each other and make sure that everyone is on the same page and communicates in a positive manner.

I think this is critical in any professional learning community. If we are teaching our children that collaboration is a vital skill for solving problems in mathematics and in the real world in general, then we should be able to exemplify that in our teaching practice. In a way, co-planning could look a lot like how the kids in those problem-based learning videos; they bounced ideas off each other, didn't take it personally when they were corrected, presented their findings to their body of peers, and weren't embarrassed or ashamed when they were corrected in front of their peers.

Listening always us to effectively collaborate and integrate our planning into a cohesive system. I also think that flexibility is really important for co-teaching as your co-teacher could discover strategies or tools that work well for your students that you may want to try out your self. Co-teachers are just another resource that teachers should be consulted as much as possible.

I agree that it is important to stay current and organized. This ensures that you are taking other teacher's points into consideration and/or a good use for communication techniques. Having a reference to go off of will ensure all ideas are present and organized.
