They can be used to guide the viewer through the shot, draw their attention to the main subject or create a sense of depth and perspective.

Leading lines can be natural (such as a river or a valley) or man-made (such as road or fence). Anything with a well defined edge can be used as a leading line.

For example: the lines on a road leads you into the photo because it is a natural leading line. It leads you into 1 part of the photo & is quite a simple way to do it but it effects the photo massively.

- Take your time to look around for leading lines so you are able to get the best image possible.

- Add foreground into the shot, a leading line but from a low angle. EG: laying on a road and getting the lines from there into the image is leading you into something in the distance.

- You don't want anymore then 1 leading line because it will confuse the viewer. Try to keep it as simple as possible.

- Having a foreground and a leading line is a bit of extra stuff, you are able to add in something like a tree but you still have a leading line. the line is still in the image but it is not confusing for the viewer.

- You can do it with big places with a big landscape and small places like a park bench, from the park bench leading lines take place as there is wood which creates lines. Eg: If the shot was taken in a different way i would implement the viewer in a different way because if someone is sat on the bench it will be blocking the lines and therefore won't give the viewer the same understanding of the picture.
