         <description><![CDATA[<div>Runways in WW2 were not like our runways today.The runway was made of sand and gravel and was pretty much an open field. The area around the airfield within 20-30 ft of any parking pad,taxiway, or runway was  completely cleared of rocks, trees and other obstructions.</div>]]></description>
