My name is Artyom, I am 18 years old. I am from Astana, Kazakhstan. Moving to the United Kingdom was one of the most important decisions in my life, and I am very happy to be here, receiving one of the best educations in the world.
I chose Computer Science as my major because I believe it is a highly promising and in-demand field for the future. My goal is to obtain a higher education in IT and eventually start my own business in this area.

As an international student in London, I have experienced a wide range of emotions — from sadness and homesickness to excitement, happiness, and amazement. I have truly discovered what real internationalism means: meeting so many students from all over the world, each with their own unique backgrounds and cultures.

Of course, at first I had many worries — a new country, a completely new environment, and I was all alone. However, over time, I managed to overcome these challenges and successfully adapt. This has been a truly unique experience for me. Although I had already traveled a lot for tourism and sports before, living and studying abroad is something completely different.

In London, I have met many people. While it was not always easy to find a common language right away, fortunately, I was able to make many wonderful connections that made my stay here even more valuable.

I have also had the chance to visit almost all the city’s famous landmarks. The place that impressed me the most was St James’s Park near Buckingham Palace — I found it especially beautiful and memorable.

All the events organized by Kaplan have been incredibly interesting and engaging. I particularly enjoyed the activities related to different countries’ holidays; through them, I learned a lot about various cultures and their traditions.

Overall, I really enjoy my life here, and I am grateful for this valuable and inspiring experience

Communication ability

Among all the skills, I would especially like to highlight the development of my communication skills and the opportunity to apply them in practice. During my studies, we had many interactive tasks that required active collaboration with other students. Thanks to this, my communication skills improved significantly, and I became more confident in interacting with people from different countries.

Academic exploration

I consider Computer Science to be my favorite module, as I have a strong interest in this field. I really enjoy not only Computer Science lessons but also other subjects. Through my studies, I have learned many new things and started to organize my time more effectively for preparation and learning.

Of course, at first it was quite difficult, and even now, although I have more or less managed to improve this process, I am still working on developing this skill to an ideal level.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Among the new academic skills I have developed, I would highlight time management, the ability to search for and analyze new information, quickly learn new topics, and gain a deep understanding of them. Of course, with our intensive course, this was not easy, and at first I forgot many things. However, over time, I was able to adapt and get used to the demanding schedule.

During the Foundation course, I absorbed a huge amount of new information, gained unforgettable experience, and collected many vivid impressions that have left a lasting impact on me. I would like to continue improving these skills, as I believe they are extremely important for my future studies.
