This story seems very interesting. It takes place in a community that thrives on perfection and rejects failure. I believe that the community in The Giver has little to no interaction with the outside world because it says that no child has seen an animal and that kids watch in awe when they see a cargo plane. In this story the citizens of the community seem to all talk as though they are androids instead of humans. The community has a lot of weird rules such as only two children both of opposite genders aloud and they release people after only three mistakes.

This society seems to keep on getting more and more strange. This society does a lot of strange things for example family units take part in very strange rituals such as explaining there emotions and dreams every day starting at age 3. I am also noticing some inconsistencies in the way that citizens talk. In the beginning of the book the characters seem to talk like they are royalty from hundreds of years ago but a few chapters latter they seem to talk more like we do, this leads me to believe that there is something different in there minds like they where brainwashed or something like that.
