Target: Families who live more like strangers than family.
Failing: Families take one another for granted and don't make the effort to maintain healthy and balanced relationships, leading to tensions and discomfort when they have to live together.
Strategy: The meme uses sarcasm by mocking those who said it would be easy to quarantine during 2021, but ended up feeling imprisioned amongst their own family members. As well, irony is used because typically, family should be able to function in their own homes, but the second there is no "escape" (outside world), families immediately turn on one another.
Desired outcome: Encourage families to build relationships that are simbiotic, rather than parasitic. For example, many teenagers and children have an underlying motive when interacting with their parents, which is that kindness = more profit and privileges.

It's almost as if she's contradicting herself.
Desired Outcome- The purpose of her wearing this dress is to standout at the met gala and try to advocate for less fortunate people, but instead it resulted in a humorous meme.

Satire Analysis- Toxic Masculinity in American Psycho

Names: Molly and Lyla
Satirical Piece: American Psycho (business card scene)
Target: Men exhibiting toxic masculinity
Failing: Toxic masculinity, specifically in the realm of excessive competition
Strategy: Exaggeration: the business cards look exactly the same to the average person, but still are a source of competition for the business men. Sarcasm: The business men are taking themselves seriously, but the audience laughs at them for making such a big deal about the small differences.
Desired Outcome: The desired outcome is for the audience (for American Psycho, the audience and target overlap significantly) to recognize how silly competition can be, and how competition plays into toxic masculinity. The character of Patrick Bateman is an anti-hero, so seeing him partake in silly competition is hoping to discourage the audience from engaging in the action.
(The video of the scene was restricted on the wifi, so the best I could do was this image)

In the past few years the world has failed to tackle global problems like climate change and biodiversity collapse. Specifically in the US Covid 19 was an overlooked issue that eventually grew to be the main focal point in a many of our lives.
Failing: The American society focuses on small issues when there are bigger problems in the world that have growing impact on our daily lives. We do this because man of these issues have become increasing too large to tackle and are inevitable at this point in time.
Strategy: Irony. In this meme the speech bubble reads "Be sure to wash your hands and all will be well." while there are obviously larger issues at hand. This is a metaphor for the American society oblivion toward growing political and socioeconomic issues.
Desired Outcome: The desired outcome is to spread light on the larger obstacles at hand, such as Climate change and biodiversity collapse.
