Evaluation

The evaluation today is one of the most important and indispensable points within the educational environment, the change of the old paradigm on the exclusive use of a summative evaluation should be changed to a formative evaluation as part of the daily activity of the teaching activity; however, the evaluation has transcended beyond the classroom space reaching a labor, commercial, social environment, etc. Evaluation is the act that allows the formulation of a value judgment, based on the collection of information on the results of a student, in order to make a decision. Therefore, an evaluation is important not only to be able to issue a numerical value but also to let the student know through feedback what he/she is doing well and what he/she lacks to be able to fulfill his/her objective.
The evaluation determines what the students learn and what the teacher teaches, since an evaluation shows us how things are being done from different points of view, taking into account the objective that with this evaluation not only the student sees his strengths and weaknesses, but also the teacher and the educational institution. It is important to emphasize that a good evaluation will always depend on the instrument used for its application, since it must be reliable, valid, objective and authentic in order to fulfill its objective (Quesada, 2006).
