While reading this book it was obvious that Ratliff knows what he is talking and has a strong musical background. I think that more music students and non music students should read his book because it really opens up a new perspective when it comes to listening and enjoying music.

If you know a little about musical terms you will understand his many uses of them, however not everyone has experience with those words.
