"Emotional well being isn't regarded during these drills."

"After we practice lockdowns a few students are usually visibly shaken (although its practice)- They start asking questions about their current safety"

"I don't think we practice enough to have made a tremendous impact. When we do staff and students seem focused and at ease"

"Young minds are not as developed as adults so I feel the "practicing" of such a hypothetical situation affects them much differently"

"The abrupt change in schedule and atmosphere can be unnerving for my kids"

"I believe if there were discussions to help students through there thoughts and feelings it would be beneficial."

"In terms of the most vulnerable student population, I feel there isn't any education on to why or how these drills help us."

"Perhaps sensory items may help calm the atmosphere."

"For youngest students it can be practiced in isolation and just called a color or something not fear evoking and stress inducing."

Although I do not enjoy it- I do feel safer practicing for an emergency versus not practicing."

"Knowing your population is key! and providing drill run throughs are pertinent and necessary."

"Input for parents , staff community partners (law enforcement)and stakeholders are key"
