In the upper classrooms, I like the idea of being able to give student interviews through the Google Form format. This allows me to be able to sort my answers and navigate the data I receive. This can use as a form of morning work or homework becuase it can be administered quickly and students can work at their own pace and I will instantly receive results.

I love how this strategy can easily mix into cooperative learning. I think student would respond well to this kind of activity when the unit requires activating knowledge previously learned or from reading. It also creates a concrete copy that we can add to or revisit.

Student Response cards can help me pre-assess information that is relevant to what I am immediately beginning to teach. By using cards labeled "I know, I'm lost" or " I understand, I'm lost" I can see terms that I may need to explain or parts of my lesson that I need to focus more on depending on responses from all students.

Journal prompts are a great way to pre-assess students. It can provide the teacher with a better understanding of of the knowledge each student is bringing to the table. This can also be used as a tool to reflect on what students learn or how their views change.

KWL charts are something that can be quick or in detail. My favorite way to use this strategy is by using post-its while students are doing a reading. This can help them check for understanding as well. Students can compare with peers every step of the process.
