One of the most import things there is the sun safety section. Some tips for that is using shade, clothing, hats, sunglasses and sunscreen to your advantage. That is one way to help prevent skin cancer.

This is important to teach because most kids do not like applying sunscreen which is harmful. Teaching the consequences of not wearing sunscreen and being unsafe in the sun will hopefully encourage students to be safe for their future.

CDC.

Delta-8-THC is a harmful psychoactive cannabis product that is not regulated and can be bought in places where marijuana is illegal. In this article it is reported that 11% or 12th graders have been using this substance. About 30% of 12th graders admitted to using marijuana so 11% is quite a large amount of marijuana users. There have many many reports of marijuana having a negative effect on the developing brain.

For health teaching purposes this information will be useful to show that just because something is illegal does not mean it is not around and could be very harmful.
