The three chambers test is the most commonly used test for sociality in mice. What do you think about that based on this table?

Blue → does the symptoms that humans with ASD have correlate with what the mice are being tested for?

Nociceptive sensitivity (hot pan finger vs tail)

Red → how similar the mice and human behaviors are

Marble burying (weak)....

Yellow → how well the mechanism behind the behavior is understood

Three chambers for example: is the mouse being nice to the stranger mouse or is it bullying? We don't know.

All three have strong correlation with the eyeblink condition

Hot plate test and tail flick test both use hot measures to get a reaction out of the mouse (example --> touching a hot stove with your finger)

I think that it’s difficult to make a comparison because social behaviors for mice don’t translate the same in humans

I watched the marble burying video and what I learned was it’s not the amount of marbles buried that give insight into repetitive behaviors, but instead the amount of time digging. They even uncovered some marbles that had already been buried

I think if the tests are being used for the greater cause of helping humans, they are ethical, as long as no excessive or cruel pain is being inflicted on animals

I think you can but very loosely. They don’t interact with each other in the same way humans do so you have to keep that in mind.

They’re not human so, by nature, there will be differences. You can make inferences but not everything exactly aligns with human behavior
