• Well Guys I am 21 years young. I graduated from NRM-Early College High School here at nash. This will be my last semester here at Nash. Ill be gratudating with my Human Service Technology- (Substance Abuse) degree I do not have any children yet, I work full time , I take care of my mother full time, Im a full time kids and youth leader at my church. I love to sing and I love to dance. - but most importantly I love to relax and sleep the most in which I can hardly do.

I should have been graduating this spring, but I wasn't as good at planning my courses as I thought, so I have a few math classes to spread out over summer school and into fall.

I have orientation at Barton College this weekend, where I plan to go on to earn a bachelor's degree in human services.

I am a widow who reconnected with my first teenage love after being apart for 45 years! We will be married next January.

I currently work in the hospitality industry. I have mastered the front and back of the house duties, which means I can perform any job (except maintenance) on any given day. I like variety and the unexpected.

My hobbies include cleaning, organizing, thrifting, and learning. Dwight and I have a cat that I was calling Alex. Dwight began calling him Trebek (as in Jeopardy's Alex Trebek), and now our cat's name is Trebek. Don't you think that's a cool name?

2024 has not started all that great for me, as we were

in an accident Sunday night. A vehicle going nearly 80 mph rear-ended us on the interstate as if we were sitting still. It totaled my car, which coincidently was purchased on Jan 21, 2021 (thanks for the memories, Facebook!) The impact, the spinning out of control, the fear of being hit by another car, the fear of dying keep reiterating in my mind. Thankfully, we were both unscathed and were able to return home, where I broke down to my knees and cried like a baby. The at-fault driver never stopped.

I haven't been able to return to work due to lack of transportation and my body feeling like I was hit by a truck; oh wait...I was, lol!

Something like this would have sent me back to unhealthy coping mechanisms had it not been for the things I have learned, the goals I have set for myself, the self-respect I now have for myself, the respect from others I have earned, the things I don't want to lose, and having the only person I've ever loved back in my life. This was all due to the teachings from excellent instructors, like Mrs. Walston and her co-workers. Nash Community College has given me back myself, my life, my hope, my future...and it just feels like home.

Here's to a successful Spring semester!
