This was hard for me because I don't really do many figures but I learned and figured how to do them. One technique in this was to look at the negative space that doesn't look like the thing you drawing but its okay and another one is flip both papers upside down and teach you brain how to work with it.This was my least favorite project because for me I don't like trying figures and thankfully I didn't have to pose because if I did it would be really hard for me to sit there for a long time and it would be hard at a perspective. This was a really fun media to use because you can blend it with everything and not make a mistake.I have grown as a artist because of many reasons. One reason is because before the school year I was very bad at people and I didn't like it and understand how to do all the shading, but once I learned how to do all the techniques, I was like this is really fun and easy. Another reason is because in the mural it taught me what you can do once you have a plan and it changes completely, so always have a plan. Although I didn't really like this project because it included everybody and I always like doing it by myself, it was kind of interesting at the end. This is one of my favorite types of media to use because you can't make a mistake and because you can put things in the background that are very washy and it has a cool affect when it dries. I stapled it to a board so that when it dries it doesn't get crippled up and it stays flat. My favorite part of this watercolor painting is the sky because it looks real and it looks like it is about to rain, which is what came out when I drew it and I didn't plan it. I could have done better on the butterflies because I could have put in another type of media and more details but it was hard to do it with watercolor and also the leaves could have been more interesting and detailed. I have grown as a artist because I understand how shading works and theres lots of techniques to play around with. This was my independent project I picked. I thought it would be a cool picture to draw because there only one pink flower and the other ones are supposed to be dark and that pink one is supposed to stand out the most. Although this looked easy it wasn't because I kept thinking the flowers didn't really look like flowers but once I finished one of them I was like, ohh yeah it does look like one, so I was happy. Although I picked this project there were also some difficulties. One of them was, at the end I wasn't sure if the pink flower looked like a rose, so I could have spent more time on it and went back to put more darks and lights in it. I have grown on this piece of artwork because the composition has lights and darks and its very well done for me. In the beginning I thought I wouldn't like this project because it involved people and figures in it, but once I asked her can it be with an animal and she said sure, the project was my favorite. This painting was hard because you had to make sure the legs of the horses weren't too thin or too thick. The shape also mattered because if it wasn't correct everything would be off and you would have to fix it more. I really liked the shading on this project because all you have to do is find the light, darks and mediums and then you feel like you have accomplished a lot. My favorite part of this was the lake and the trees because it was coming from my own imagination, like it was from a picture book. You had to reuse this canvas that made a connection to what it had on it before. We got to choose a random canvas that we wanted and worked on that for about 2 weeks starting with gesso on the bottom. For the clouds I cut out parts of newspapers that had colors of clouds on it and I painted on top of that so it had a connecting theme of weathering. Then once I finished what she told us, she said we can do whatever we want on top of that. I painted it with acrylic paint. This was really hard for me because you couldn't start out with a fresh one, you had to use an old one that someone else started and I didn't like that. I also didn't like the part that you couldn't paint whatever you want on it and paint the bottom coating white.
