The holocaust was in Europe when the Nazi came to power between 1941 and 1945. It was led my Adolf Hitler during this unfortunate time Hitler would attempt to wipe out all Jews in Europe. The Nazis would forbid all civil and human rights to all Jewish people including education and portfolio (jobs). Adolf Hitler wanted to wipe all the Jews because of the overwhelming hate that Hitler had for Jews.

After Germany's loss in world war 1, the political aspect fell in to turmoil (confusion). During this time there was an overthrow in the monarch. Racist groups began to take advantage of this and began to riot and argue about how it was the Jews that made them lose the world war 1 war. These racist groups were against democracy, human rights, capitalism, socialism, and communism. The group argued that anyone that is not of german blood should be banned/kicked.

Kertész was a Hungarian Jew. In 1944, at the age of 14, he was transferred to Auschwitz. when arriving at the camp, he claimed to be a sixteen-year-old, and him doing so saved him from the immediate death that awaited the 14-year-olds. From there he was conveyed to Buchenwald camp, where he was extricated (set free) in 1945. His entire family, except himself and his mother, died during the war.

Sofka was a princess of Russia in 1940 Sofka was in Paris during her time there she was arrested by two German officers. Sofka was in prison for 4 year and would leave in 1944 July. The reason she was arrested was because the British at the time were considered enemy.
