Ethnicity:  Refers the nationality,  regional culture, ancestry, and language of a certain group. Ethnicity is not the same as race.(9/11/17)
Diversity: An understanding that each person is unique with their own culture/ethnicity/race/sexual orientation/ social status/ etc. Knowing and appreciating these differences between people is the main idea of diversity. (9/19/17)
Social Class: This is identified as a division of people and society based on their social or economic status. There are usually three different classes that people identify with.(9/19/17)
Gender: The biological means of being either a male or a female. People can also identify with a gender even if their biological gender is different. (9/19/17)

Social Justice: a fair distribution of wealth, opportunities, and privileges to a society (10/5/17)

Racism: The idea that one's own race is superior and has theright to dominate others or that a particular racial group is inferior tothe others.(10/27/17)
Institutional racism: A certain institution giving negative treatment to a group based on their race. (10/27/17)
Systemic racism: Systemic racism is both a theoretical concept and a reality. As a theory, it is premised on the research-supported claim that the United States was founded as a racist society, that racism is thus embedded in all social institutions, structures, and social relations within our society. Explanation Paragraph: 

I made up this saying from my own thoughts about what I read in this unit and also the previous units too. What I am really trying to get across by this saying is that our world would not be how it is today if love was not absent from it. Our schools, politics,  government, and society in general would be changed forever if we let down the hate and showed more love. Yes, we are all different and we share different beliefs about life but who calls us to hate people because they are different from us? I was especially moved to use this saying when I read the "Ideas for Allies" because after readings these ideas it showed me how important it is as a teacher to accept my students no matter what they believe in. Reading this showed me that I can do a lot as teacher to support my students. I know if they accept me and who I am as an individual then I should do the same for them. We as teachers are their role models for life, if we bring love and respect into our classrooms then they will bring love and respect in their lives.

One reasoning why they were treated so badly is because American workers thought they were going to steal jobs. But this is actually a myth because most of them just wanted to escape their country and all they cared about was being safe.
