Then, parishioners are invited to sit at the table marked by their birth month. The youth are asked to parade one cake at a time and bring it to the appropriate table as someone explains, using the microphone, the theme of the cake and identifies the bakers. This February 2019 theme was a link to the Aboriginal calendars that are not the same as the western calendar. They are lunar calendars that are logical to a people who are closely linked to nature. Orange Shirt Day is an event designed to educate people and promote awareness in Canada about the Indian residential school system and the impact it has had on Indigenous  communities for over a century—an impact recognized as a cultural genocide, and an impact that continues today. It is held annually on September 30. St-Peter's parishioners were encouraged to wear an orange shirt.
