She knew that this wasn’t right. Something was wrong with how people treated those of color. It was unfair. Why would people treat them wrong? Why would people look down at them like that? 

Kamala Harris was born on October 20, 1964, in Oakland, CA. Her Jamaican father taught at Stanford University. Her mother, a daughter of an Indian diplomat was a cancer researcher and later taught at McGill University in Canada. Now, at age seven, things get worse. Her parents had divorced. Being a young child with one parent is very hard. Her mother had no one to depend on but herself. She faced racial inequality because they were African American, and only had one parent. She and her sister moved to Quebec when she was twelve for middle and high school.

In 1986, she attended High School at Howard University where she got majors in political science and economics and became a social justice activist. After she graduated from Howard University in 1986, she moved to California to attend the University of California College of Law in San Francisco and became a lawyer there in 1990. She wanted to make an impact on the world. 

On January 21, 2019, she went on to campaign for vice president with Joe Biden. The pair get elected and start to settle down. She has felt inequality and doesn’t want it to happen to others.

On January 20, 2021, Kamala Harris becomes the Vice president of the United States to spread the word of racial injustice, along with the uprising discrimination against Asian Americans. She is striving to end this injustice and is gathering fame to spread the message to the world. She is helping Joe Biden become a more successful president and is doing everything she can to stop racial injustice, once and for all.
