- the right camera in the strict sense was made up of clericals and reactionaries;
- the Left was formed by the Historical Left (Mazziniani and Garibaldini).
Right and Left Historians had a liberal conception of the state, but the Left was more democratic: it was the right and the left liberal.

Its members  were aristocratics, intellectuals, bourgeois and liberals.
