The subject of global sustainability refers to the world's resources and how long they will last for our use. While green design is a subset of sustainable design. It focuses on the use of recycled materials like reclaimed wood furniture, renewable energies like solar lighting and on reduced waste of energy and materials in the home. As non-renewable resources run out, designers need to develop innovative solutions to meet basic human needs for energy, food and raw materials. The development of renewable and sustainable resources is one of the major challenges of the 21st century for designers. So, we can cut carbon emissions, and waste, and save resources by implementing sustainable design concepts into our work.

In the term of design, that was a method to design spaces while manage and use the materials wisely also the construction method in designing must be relevant without harming the environment. Besides, sustainable in the term of design or sustainable design also improves hygiene and and further increase the level of safety and comfort to the people and nature itself. For instance, rather from using non-renewable resources as charcoal to regenerate energy, it is way more efficient by using renewable energy that will not running out as wind to regenerate energy and its much cheaper than using charcoal continuously. If the global sustainability doesnt exist, it will lead to it will lead to the occurrence of undesirable consequences such as deforestation or open burning which causing instability in the pH index in the air and will lead to other effect like global warming, ozone depletion and so on.

Global sustainability refers to the long-term ability of the planet to support life and maintain ecological balance while meeting the needs of the present without compromising the needs of future generations. It encompasses a wide range of interconnected issues, including green or sustainable design, environmental consequences of human actions, pollution, renewable and non-renewable resources, ozone depletion, global warming, climate change, and the world's ecological footprint. Ozone depletion primarily refers to the thinning of the ozone layer in the Earth's stratosphere. Human-made chemicals, like chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), have been responsible for ozone layer depletion, leading to harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation reaching the Earth's surface. The Montreal Protocol, an international agreement, has successfully reduced the production and use of ozone-depleting substances. Global warming is the increase in Earth's average surface temperature due to the enhanced greenhouse effect. Human activities, primarily the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation, release greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, trapping heat. This results in climate change, which leads to more frequent and severe weather events, rising sea levels, and disruptions to ecosystems. Mitigating global warming and adapting to its effects are critical for global sustainability. The ecological footprint measures humanity's demand on nature by assessing the resources and ecosystem services required to support our lifestyle and consumption patterns. When the ecological footprint exceeds the Earth's biocapacity (its ability to regenerate resources and absorb waste), it leads to ecological overshoot, causing resource depletion and environmental degradation. Achieving global sustainability involves reducing the ecological footprint to a level within the planet's capacity. To achieve global sustainability, it is crucial to adopt a holistic and integrated approach that balances economic, social, and environmental aspects. This includes transitioning to renewable energy sources, reducing waste and pollution, conserving biodiversity, and implementing policies and practices that prioritize long-term well-being for both current and future generations. International cooperation and individual action play essential roles in addressing these global challenges.
