The increase in mass tourism is due to package holidays and their destinations. Mass tourism is large-scale and highly focuses on popular tourist destinations and pay little to no regard to local communities. Package holidays are considered cheap and safe. Mass tourism can have both impact package holiday destinations positively and negatively.

There are many countries that benefit from mass tourism. These are countries in Southeast Asia, Central America, Southern Europe and the Middle East. This is because tourism is labour heavy and creates many jobs ; not just in the hotel industry. Tourism requires large a large scale of food, which promotes the country's agriculture. Because mass tourism is very large-scale, through the multiplier effect, the whole local economy is boosted. Mass-tourism also creates openings for small businesses such as tour bus companies, beach facility hires and small cafes.

Although the money can be spent on developing the country, boosting the economy and providing jobs, travel agency companies, such as Thomas Cook, leaks money from the holiday out of the country to the tour operators offices. This is called economic leakages. This means that a large percentage of the money being paid do not go to locals and instead elsewhere. As a result, locals become dependent on mass-tourism to survive. This also means that if mass-tourism stops, many will be out of work and struggle to make a decent living.

Mass-tourism can also impact the quality of life for the locals. Tourists can easily offend local culture and tradition through their behaviours. For example, ignoring local dress code and revealing skin, and behaving inappropriately in a place of worship e.g temples and churches.

Mass-tourism can also impact the environment of package holiday destinations. For example, the clearance of important habitats to provide land for hotels and malls (for tourism), the pollution of the sea, lakes and rivers by littering of rubbish (primarily plastic); which destroys habitats and ruins sites, and traffic congestion which causes air and noise pollution. This can be seen in a lot of beach package-holidays such as Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, where islands such as Pulau Manukan and Pulau Sapi has had roughly 60% of its coral reefs die due to tourists stepping on the reefs and a large decrease in marine life due to littering of rubbish into the sea. This forces locals to close the island for months at a time to restore corals and other habitats, which in turn decreases revenue.

Though mass-tourism can have some positive impacts on package holiday destinations - boosting the economy and increasing overall employment, it is evident that there are more negative impacts on the destination itself - destroying the environment, insulting culture and money being leaked out of the country -than positive.

Mass tourism is when the is an influx in tourists to one place at a specific time. There has been a large increase due to the increased amount of package holidays. This significant increase has happened in countries in Asia, the pacific and Middle East. Tourism has many advantages and disadvantages to areas that get large influxes. Package holidays offer cheaper deals and safe flights, which can positively help communities and countries.

There are many benefits from mass tourism can increase the quality of life as more people visit the destination governments will invest more in those areas, so there are better facilities, more public spaces and such on. however people can ignore local cultures so they can wear the wrong attire or act inappropriately at places of worship.

Tourism can positively and negatively impact the environment, they can positivity impact it by increase the governments spending on cleaning facilities but they can also be the cause of this mess and negatively impact communities; by littering in the sea, lakes, e.c.t. destroying habitats and disrupting the daily routines of locals.

Tourism can increase job opportunities for local communities as they can work in the tourism industry which you don't have to have major qualifications. They also grown towns or cities as others may come to work in those areas across the country.

Tourism also increase the countries GDP, as the country is getting more income as people will be paying higher tax rates with better paid jobs.

By increasing the amount of tourists it can cause noise pollution and can cause traffic congestion. Which is disruptive to communities.

By using many package holidays it will decrease the use of local hotels, as most people will get deals with higher end hotels.

Finally tourism allows for there to be more sales of local products and markets, as they would not be frequently visited. It also encourages for people to be more interactive in their communities.

In conclusion mass tourism has a large impact on package holiday places but the impacts aren't always positive.

Mass tourism is tourism that is in a large-scale, focuses on popular touristic destinations, and it is often the cheapest way to spend on a holiday. It is usually a resort hotel. Mass tourism is usually sold as a package deal, making it cheaper and more tourists buying the package.

Mass tourism can be very beneficial to different types of businesses, especially in such places with high labor. Tourists travel in large numbers to locations. As the need for hotel managing and cleaning has increases, the amount of labor for such jobs will also increase. Not only accommodation business will get the benefit, other indirect businesses such as airlines, catering, food and beverages, manufacturing services for the furniture will also be benefitted. For example, Disneyland resort in Hong Kong not only creates accomodation labor opportunities, but also catering, entertainment, food, etc. As there are more jobs available in the area, economy will be boosted and there will be a lower unemployment rate, leading to a better quality of life.

Mass tourism not only creates job opportunities to the local citizens, they also provide government with considerable taxes, which can help in improving public facilities, for example health, security and education. As there are more improved public facilities, the citizens will have a better quality of life.

Although tourists import a lot of money to the destination, economic leakages will happen. For example, tourists might pay their accommodation fees to foreign hotel and facility owners, making the money to not stay in the country, causing economic leakage.

Furthermore, some tourists disrespect local cultures, for instance, disliking local cultures, not following local customs, or even destroying local architecture such as graffiti. This can decrease the quality of life of the local citizens as they feel disrespected.

Although there are different benefits and drawbacks, the benefits heavily outweigh the drawbacks, making mass tourism a beneficial impact to the destination.

Mass tourism focuses on popular destinations usually near coasts and popular cities. It has often been affected by package deals, making it cheaper to travel to the destination. Due to its cheapness, more tourists buy them and travel, which could benefit business there.

Mass tourism benefits many things, such as the economy of the destination in the packages deal. Due to these package deals, more people have been traveling all around the world to new destinations, giving more opportunities to those places.

Because of the large amount of tourists in such places, the job opportunities for the local will also increase. More people will be needed to help accommodate these tourists and take care of hotels and other public places.
Government and locals often support this type of tourism because they are able to generate more income. More facilities are built to benefit te accommodation of these tourists.

Some of the disadvantages of mass tourism can be that those jobs for the locals are only seasonal, which means they can find themselves out of work after this season ends. Tourists consume a lot of the local resources such as water and food, which can be thought of as unsustainable.

The first package holiday tours were arranged by Thomas Cook in 1841, and mass tourism has increased rapidly because of these packages. Mass tourism is when many people travel to the same location usually during the same time of year - e.g. a beach resort during summer. People buy these package deals because they include a variety of services combined together to make one whole trip for a not too expensive price. As more package deals are presented, many positive and negative impacts are also presented. In 2015, many countries international tourist arrivals increased rapidly, such as France (84.5 million), USA (77.5 million), and Spain (68.2 million).

Positive impacts:
Governments and local people often support mass tourism because it generates a lot of income for local areas. Many countries have benefitted from mass tourism because they have idealistic vacation locations. Tourism is also labour heavy, therefore many job opportunities are available for many people, which does not only include hotels but also includes attractions, airports etc. Many small businesses have had openings because of tourism, and thus the development of tourism has acted as a growth pole, stimulating the economy.

Negative impacts:
However, the value of tourism is often overrated, due to many reasons, one of which is economic leakages, which means that the money a tourist pays ends up going elsewhere. The money from cheaper package tours usually stays in the country which the tour was paid for.
In addition to this, because of the rise in employment rate, most jobs provided are low paid and seasonal, so people are only able to provide for themselves when tourism rate is high in the country. Human rights may be abused by companies and governments so they are able to maximise their profits for the country.
Local people could also be deeply affected by the rise of mass tourism because they may be displaced in order to make way for tourist developments. The land owned by local people may be used up by tourism companies to develop more scenic and accessible locations, so locals may also suffer from loss of housing as more visitors buy second homes in popular areas.
The natural habitats in those areas may get interrupted by the construction, which may affect workers in the primary sector. These workers would extract raw materials from the nature that they are highly dependent on the quantity and quality of natural resources.
As more tourists gather, there is a higher chance for crime rate to rise, as it may be easier for burglars to steal tourists valuables.

In conclusion, there are many positive and negative effects in the short and long term, causing the economy to develop or decline.

Mass tourism is a form of tourism that involves tens of thousands of people going to the same resort often at the same time of year. Mass tourism has significanly increased in the last decade or so. This is mainly due to the availability of package holidays increasing and prices decreasing. Mass tourism can have both positive and negative impacts on a certain destination.

Examples of some of the positive impacts brought along with mass tourism are that the economy of the country will increase. This is epscially important in LIC's where the capital generated through tourism is significant in the country's economy. Mass tourism is also a great opportunity for the country to increaseit's quality of life as the government may invest in better facilities such as airports, roads and parks. It can also lead to greater understandings between people of different cultures and can also help host community's develop foreign language skills increasing diversity in certain places.

However, there are disadvantages brought with mass tourism. Examples of this is that firstly, tourists may cause an increase in traffic for the country / city, some community's may also be offended by the way some tourists act and the way they behave themselves furthermore the impact from tourism may cause local community's to loose traditional cultures and change and adapt the way in which they live their day to day lives. Lastly, diverting water for tourists can exploit local water reserves, leaving local people, plants and animals short of water. Pollution from plastics may increase signiffiantly giving more unecessary problems for the place to deal with.

If we were to look at an example of a country affected, we can see that Jamaica has benefited from mass tourism in several ways. Firstly tourism contributed to almost 27.4 % of Jamaicas total GDP in 2014. In addition, direct employement to the industry amounted to 90,000. However, this can also be seen as a disadvantage as during the off-season, 25% of hotel workers are laid off.

Due to the increase in mass tourism, there are some impacts on package destinations. Mass tourism refers to a form of tourism that involves a large number of people going to the same resort at the same time of year. Places, famous for stunning views and high-quality resorts include European countries, Southeast Asia, Caribbean and more. Because of mass tourism, many tourist companies introduce a package deal to attract people. As the increase in mass tourism presents more package deals, the destination countries are impacted both negatively and positively.

Positive impacts
The countries earn much money from the spending, so they often use it for development. New infrastructures are built, or new public services are introduced to raise the quality of living standard, or attract more tourists in the future.
Employment rate may rise due to the high demand for travelling in the area. As tourists buy all those merchandises, there would be more residents opening markets for tourists.

Negative impacts
As more tourists come to this place, there’s a higher chance for the environment to be damaged. This can be done by natural gas emission from the frequent use of vehicles.
Furthermore, we cannot always assure that the money spent by tourists in the developing countries is directly sent to the country. Sometimes, money is leaked to tourist companies.
The local jobs that are created for the sake of tourism are often low-paid and menial that they don’t benefit the residents in the developing countries that much.
As more tourists are coming, there’s a higher chance for burglars to concentrate in those areas, as those burglars often steal the tourists’ valuables.
Lastly, the natural habitats in those areas may get interrupted by the constructions, which may give effects to workers in the primary sector. These workers extract raw materials from the nature that they are highly dependent on the quantity and quality of natural resources.

Therefore, in the short term, it looks like there are more positive impacts on the package destinations, but in the long run, it affects the areas in negative ways.

The money generated can be used to repair the natural or built environment. However when mismanaged and when tourism exceeded its carrying capacity. The carrying capacity is the maximum number of tourists the destination can receive over a certain amount of time without receiving damage to the environment. Cultural erosion can be diminished and traditional industries can be shut down and replaced with the tourism industry. Traditional cultures are also abandoned as young people seek role models in foreign culture.

It has gained popularity in recent years as its often cheap and often sold as a package deal. Because of mass tourism, number of travel agencies introduce a package deal to attract more people. There are positive and negative consequences from this.

Countries can earn a lot of money from tourism. In fact, in Seychelles, 67% of their GDP comes from tourism. Governments can spend those money to build infrastructures and improve public service. New jobs will be created from tourism that would raise the overall standard of living.

However, mass tourism can also be harmful to the environment. Airplanes are required to get to the country and many cars will be used to get to the hotel from the airport. Tourist could be disrespectful and throw waste into the public since it’s not their country. Secondly, the money raised from tourism might not be directly going into the people’s pockets as jobs may be low paid and the travel agencies and the airline company may keep majority of the profit.

Overall, there are advantages to package deal, especially to local economy, however, there also many disadvantages that could harm the country in the long term.

Mass tourism is a form of tourism that involves thousands and thousands of people going to the same resort at the same time of year. This type of tourism has gained popularity very recently as it is fairly affordable with good brand deals, along with a package of offers. Due to this high rate of tourism, many companies introduce this type of method to draw attention and easily earn a profit.

This has an advantage mainly because local business and governments are able to earn a bigger profit from this type of tourism. Which means that the government are able to sponsor or reinvest into other charity or businesses. This is also proven from the fact that in Seychelles, 67% of their GDP comes from tourism.

A disadvantage could be that it has a really massive impact on the climate, causing global warming. Such as aeroplanes and cars or main transportations may cause huge problems. Tourism can often cause environmental damage with risks like erosion, pollution, the loss of natural habitats, and forest fires. Even if tourists behave responsibly, the sheer number of them can cause damage. Ancient buildings, monuments, and temples often struggle to cope with increased traffic and suffer inevitable wear-and-tear. Reefs and other natural tourist attractions can suffer permanent damage.

Overall, I feel that there are both advantages and disadvantages to tourism. And it is important that we understand both the advantages and disadvantages.
