Setting:
The story takes place in New York. The area in New York is not poor, but also not very rich. Middle class maybe.

Everybody is very nicely dressed, because it is the night of their prom.

Framing & focus:
The main characters are in focus. And they are usually being filmed up-close.

Because the girl in the wheelchair is in the bottom of the shot, it puts more focus on the boy, and the fact that he has done a good deed by taking her to the prom.

Camera movement:
The camera slowly zooms in on the people and moves to follow the characters. The shots are very long.

Camera angle:
In some of the shots, the camera angle is directed at the boy from beneath him, so the viewers look up to him.

Lighting & colour:
The lighting is very soft and natural.

Soundtrack:
The music at the prom is very cheerful, in spite of the main character's disappointed mood.

Editing:

The lady starts with taking the train, she doesn’t like trains which shows us that she does something she doesn’t like to chase happiness. Bradley starts walking. At the end of the scene their find each other at the bar. You see the situation from both views. There are both very nervous and tends. At first there are chaos, their want to find each other. There is no music, just the sound of the city and a lots of cars honks. That create a stressful environment. At the end their find peace and happiness. A happy music starts and the sound from the city stops. There are a lot of close-ups and that helps us see their emotions. There is montage, flashbacks and a static camera. The lighting is dark, but when they meet each other the lighting is pointing at their faces. In the beginning of the scene we get a close-up of the two persons. The tone is very intimate and when they get eye contact the film is in slow motion for a few seconds. After they both lighted they're cigarettes the close up disappears and when the woman walks away we get a bigger perspective. With this perspective the intimate tone is gone. The atmosphere is very dark only lighted up by a few street lights, this could symbolize secrets and a unknown territory. This get supported when later in the clip they walk away to a place where the street lamps light the atmosphere up and the truth comes out when she tells him she's a hooker.

  • The camera movement is pretty slow, because it has to follow the moving persons.

We choose the scene were an old man, who is also a painter follows a young beautiful girl through a neighborhood in china town. At first sight the girl does not want to interact with the man but, decides to go to his place at the end. She finds the apartment but not the man. He’s dead when she shows up.

A Chinese restaurant

A lot of closeups of the girl, her face especially

And long shots of the man when he is following her in the streets

The focus is mainly on the girl and the way she looks at him

Focus is also placed on the differenties in china town compared to the rest of NY
