When the gulf war ended Iraq torches Kuwait's oil reserves.The United States and many other countries formed a alliance, to drive Iraq out of Kuwait.  Most oil exporting counties want to have a steady flow of oil coming into there county and a steady flow of money going into the county.  To do that countries made an  organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in 1960 6 countries have joined form southwest Asia they are trying to make sure the oil prices are not to high or to low. Other counties depend on the oil coming from south west Asia. We are not using more renewable recourses because on the past it cost a lot more that it did to use oil or natural gas. But the cost for wind power as recently dropped so more counties have started to use wind energy to use as energy. In the near cuter sun and wind will become a imparitive part to the way we live.
