I work as a hairdresser out of my home studio in Ypsilanti. I've been in the industry for a little over 10 years now and I've spent the last 5 of them running my own business specializing in queer/gender affirming haircuts. I really love my job and the environment I've built with my community, but unfortunately this career isn't going to be sustainable as I get older. I am currently back in school to work towards transitioning to a field that is less strain on my body (and social battery, but don't tell my clients I said that).

Don't let this photo fool you.. this is the one time in about 5 years that I was able to catch them being this loving and civil with eachother. Main culprit is Pootsy on the left. She is 17 years old and a little over 5lbs of old lady angst. Foofur on the right is around 5 and is the sweetest baby angel on earth. Poots still hasn't forgiven me for getting a second cat and it appears that one day she will just die ornery.

My Best Boy

This is the latest addition to my family, Binxsy. I adopted him back in July 2024 and he was immediately at home. He is the friendliest, sweetest, and cuddliest little old man. Binx has a fairly questionable back story but it's estimated he's around 10. He's full of life and loves to go on walks. I always grew up with dogs but never thought I would get one of my own, I was always more of a cat person. Now I couldn't imagine not having him around. To be fair, he may as well be a cat with how chill and quiet he is. 10/10 best dog

Pride & Joy: My Fish Tank

A little over a year ago I finally fulfilled my dreams of owning a fish tank, and I'm really proud of it. Before officially starting the journey I did hours and hours of research to make sure I could have the perfect environment for a well-planted and (mostly) self sustainable community tank and I'm so happy I've been successful. I even successfully bred my honey gouramis (yellow guys) so now I have two generations. I've also got a pearl gourami, neon tetras, panda corydoras, an unknown number of neocaridina shrimp, and last but not least my FAVORITE fish, kuhli loaches. The loaches are the fun wiggly guys. They crack me up. Anyway this process has been a lot of fun for me and quite the learning experience. I'd like to upgrade to a much bigger tank some day, maybe even try saltwater.

Last Pet I Swear

This is my beautiful snake boy, David Boa. Growing up I was always obsessed with reptiles and I always wanted a snake but my mom was not at all into letting me get one. When I moved out and got my very first apartment I immediately got a pet snake and I've had him since. He is absolutely spoiled in his big cozy tank, and even more so when I take him out for a nice shower steam (as pictured). I try to give my friends who are afraid of snakes exposure therapy whenever I can, because they're just sensitive little guys. Especially ball pythons.. this guy is a BABY.

Favorite Colors: Orange, yellow, teal

My entire house is painted with these colors.

Fun Fact: I've been to approximately 108 concerts (including repeat artists, not counting two artists in one show separately) and my goal is to attend 500 before I die.

Hobbies: Dinking around my house doing domestic things, painting, crocheting, building stuff, really any crafty thing, playing video games, thrift shopping, karaoke, picking up bugs and idetifying them with my bug app, anything that involves walking around and looking at stuff. I am hoping to soft launch beekeeping this spring.
