Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)- the primary set of academic standards that specifies the knowledge and skills students should acquire in subjects.

Identify key verbs and nouns in a standard to write an objective that is clear and understandable to myself and students.

Formative assessments: ongoing process, provides feedback, and flexible and adaptive. Examples: quizzes and classroom discussions.

Summative assessments: cumulative evaluation, final judgement, and standardized. Examples: final exams and major projects.

ELL, students with disabilities, gifted students, early finishers, and students performing below and above grade level.

Differentiation is important because every student is unique and different in their own way.

My teacher toolkit can prepare me by giving me tools to my state's standards, how to write learning objectives clearly, the difference between formal and summative assessments, why it is important to differentiate in classrooms and how to effectively communicate as a teacher. Overall, my toolkit serves as a resource that assists me with the necessary tools and strategies for effective teaching. I will be able to enhance my professional practice, ensure positive student outcome, and contribute to a thriving educational environment.
