Students have to read their choice of articles (preselected links to the article) to find 5 articles that are written in each of the 5 text structures. They then have to complete a google slide graphic organizer and a google form as more of the assessment piece. Students are to take a picture of the cards in SeeSaw and then annotate it by underlining key words and phrases that helped them to decide what text structure each card was written in. Their job was to describe each text features and how they help readers while reading non-fiction informational texts. They then looked through books and magazines to find each and take a picture to put in their presentation. Students looked at images of soldiers during the civil war. They then created a history of one of the people in the images by writing a narrative of what their life was like before going to war. Students then did a charcoal drawing to go with their character.
