Genuinely feels like being in a zoo -- digitally -- with the various animals we've learned about including the tremendous amount of information about them. The discussion is clear, thorough and direct to the point. Even the small details are pointed out.

Walk in the Park

Studying the course felt like a walk in the park — Jurassic Park.

Learning the different characteristics of vertebrates allowed me to understand how each animals differ from each other. Like the Jurassic Park, home of the terrible lizards, memorizing names and characteristics is quite a terrible work. Nonetheless, when I focused on learning and appreciating the different vertebrates, the terrible feeling turned into fascination and enthusiasm.

For the lectures, I love seeing the different animals. It almost felt like I saw them in person. Additionally, learning and studying them gave me a wider perspective on how they live life. This course influenced me to seek more of the specifics of each animals discussed.

Of course, who would have forget identifying bones of a modern dinosaur? Aves are so fascinating and it’s satisfying to understand how are they able to fly (although some birds can’t). Thanks to their pneumatic bones!

Overall, I really enjoyed the subject. It’s not like studying at all. It will drive and lure you in wanting to learn more.

I had a hard time at first, everything was different from what I'm used to. But eventually I was able to cope up and learn to adapt with the changes. Although I am never really fond of animals still, I enjoyed learning about them (there are a lot of animals though). Comparative Anatomy class does not only educate people about all these animals but also gives us the feeling that we should ought to care for them. Learning is not learning unless we apply it.. (I opted not to study snakes though, they're scary) :D

Congratulations for completing the course , Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy. Although we had to adjust for the online class, I hope that you have enjoyed the course (especially preparing your own specimen :). I also hope that you appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of not only the vertebrates but other organisms as well; as this develops a sense of responsibility in taking care of these organisms.
We seldom meet as a class but I'm happy that you have accomplished the assigned tasks diligently. I've also enjoyed watching your videos. Again, Congratulations! Cheers!

I really would like to commend Ma'am Lani for providing good contents when it comes to the topics; especially when it comes to lecture videos; also quizzes and activities are well-scheduled and challenging.

Also, as a instructor, I felt that ma'am came through for us because she was considerate of our concerns regarding internet connection issues and schedule for exams. I also liked that whenever we did have a conference, that it wasn't too early or too late in the day.

With regards to the topics included in the course, admittedly, they we're a lot; a lot to memorize and a lot to understand; but I really had fun with the topics. These topics made me feel a "biology student" the most, rather than being just a "pre-med student".

Comparative Anatomy puts the concepts of systematic biology in perspective. It will give you the sense of awe and appreciation.

I wished we had the chance to be doing all these in face-to-face classes.

I'm so glad that I was able to take this course under Ma'am Lani😊 I want to take this opportunity to thank you Ma'am because you provided us lecture videos for every lessons. Those were such a great help! You were also considerate to us that you even extended the dates of submission for some activities. 😍
This was one of my most fave subjects since I love and I'm interested about animals! Although there were lot of terms and names to remember plus their spellings are so complicated, I was still amazed about the facts that I learned about those species.
One of my most unforgettable moment for this subject was of course, making our own specimen- the chicken skeletal system. 🐓
Overall, I had fun and I learned lots of knowledge under this course💞
