         <description><![CDATA[<div>The discovery of DNA's structure relied on the work of Rosalind Franklin.  She had nearly figured out the molecule’s structure when Maurice Wilkins, a researcher she worked with, showed one of Franklin’s X-ray images to James Watson and Francis Click. <br><br>Watson, Crick and Wilkins won a Nobel Prize in 1962 for their discovery.  Franklin was excluded.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Cori specialized in biochemistry and researched how glycogen can be used as a source of energy. Her theory was called the "Cori Cycle," which helped treat diabetes. In 1947, Gerty and her husband won the Nobel Prize for discovering the enzymes that convert glycogen into sugar, then into glycogen again. Cori has made many monumental discoveries that have all changed our understanding of science. <br><br></div>]]></description>

Mary received an offer to work for engineer Kazimierz Czarnecki in the 4-foot by 4-foot Supersonic Pressure Tunnel, a 60,000 horsepower wind tunnel capable of blasting models with winds approaching twice the speed of sound. Then 1958 became NASA’s first black female engineer. She won many awards one being the Apollo Group Achievement Award.</div>]]></description>
