Traffic is caused by poorly designed roads, accidents, construction, less roadways or sometimes it can be happen due to rush hours which is likely on the way to work or home.


When is the peak traffic hours is Istanbul?

Expected hours are from 8 am to 10 am in the morning, 5 pm to 8 pm in the evening.

How to avoid traffic jams?

There are so many tips to avoid traffic jams. One of them is to avoid peak hours. If it is not urgent then one should wait for peak hours to end to get on the road. 

Another one is finding alternative roads. The most known roads are the ones that is the most crowded. If one is familiar with the city, they should keep in mind some alternative roads. 

Also using public transportation is a good way to cope with traffic jam. Not all cities are good at public transportation but Istanbul is very broad about it. Instead of using personal cars, using metro or bus or tram is much more cheaper, healthier and safer.

There are many ways to do this, but none of them will produce an efficient result.

We can say that the traffic problem is actually a national problem because megacities were formed by immigration from the country. Istanbul is one of the obvious examples of this. Millions of people come here to look for work due to the developed industry and continue their lives here. If job opportunities were not sufficient at the national level, the traffic problem could decrease visibly.
