We went to visit the family in La Dorada every 3 years and that December we went to visit them. Most of my uncles work outside the country, in Ecuador, Chile, Peru, etc, and they told my dad to go work with them so he could earn more. That proposal was a concern for both me and my mother because my father had never been separated from us and it was going to be more than six months outside the country. I felt bored, sad, worried and anguished just like my mother. My father went with my uncles to work and my mom and I returned to Cucuta alone. 
They were 6 arduous and difficult months for my mother, my brother and me. We felt very sad for not having my dad with us, it was worrying all the time because my dad's job was a very dangerous and risky job.
