As an apprentice you are paid to learn the skills you need to perform the job from an experienced tradesman. You take a combination of classes and get on the job experience while earning a good hourly wage. At the end of the training period you become a certified tradesman or journey worker.

Types of degrees awarded: Apprentice programs to not award degrees. Apprentices become industry certified and then are called journey workers.

Cost: Varies according to trade

Length of Time: 2-5 years

Student Population: Students who wish to acquire a specific skill.
