The old name of the village Sakdrini was Edikili  (Turkish). Founded by Greeks who emigrated from the Ottoman Empire in the 19th century. There are 7 cathedrals and a palace with details typical of the Middle Ages. On the outskirts of the village, there is a ruin of Natsikhari. It is suggested that it is a remnant of the village Andrapi mentioned on the map drawn by Vakhushti Batonishvili.
During the Soviet period, breastfeeding and potato growing was widespread. In Edikili, the village council included the villages of Ayaz, Guniakala, Tikili, and Nardevani. In 2010, several villages in Tsalka Municipality were renamed. It was called Sakdrioni during Edikili.
