It is an engaging website that will keep students wanting to play and learn from and since it is fun the students will learn better from this rather than giving a lecture on it.

If the class isn't ready or old enough to go play on the website on their own it can be a game played as a whole class and have the teacher lead it.

The gameplay style makes the sometimes harder topic to learn really easy for young students to learn about the government that they live under.

What are the Cons of iCivics?

Since this is a website focused on games it becomes easier for students to get distracted and only play the game and not retain any of the information that the game gives.

They might not actually play the games on the website and find other things to do on their devices. This means the teacher has to spend more time watching their students then help teach them.

The website may be too difficult for some people which means students will need a lot of help. This means the teacher may potentially spend more time with individuals than the class which can lead to some becoming off task.

How Would I Use iCivics in the Classroom?

After having a brief lecture on the United States government and constitution I would choose games that I feel apply the best to that lecture as well as best apply to the level of the class as well.

Along with playing the game I would make a worksheet that relates to the game to make sure that there is actual learning being done and not just playing the game.

After they turn in their sheets I would let them continue to explore the website and play other games on their that look fun and interesting to them.
