His parents were farmers so he helped them with his brothers. One day during World War 2 the germans invaded his town so his family build a small house in the woods to hide. Two of his brothers were captured by the germans they never returned. When Yuri was an adult he worked as a builder. Then  he singed up in to a Aeroclub,  he was a quick learner. In 1955 he became a military pilot. In 1957 the Soviet goverment started a project to explore the space and in 1959 Yuri presented as a volunteer. After hard training he was ready.  
In 1961 Yuri was lunched to space,  evrything worked perfectly.
After that he worked for the goverment, he tested new planes 
On 27 March 1968 Yuri was testing the new MIG-15  when suddenly the plane crashed. Yuri died in the accident. Later a someone found evidence that the plane was shot down, we will never know what happened.
