Posting the objective for student's to know what we plan to accomplish that day. Thinking about what questions I need to ask to insure students have mastered the daily activity.

Instead of planning day by day I want to think about what the end goal will be. Building all activities around the main objective will now be a main priority. The amount of importance placed on planning for that final objected was surprising. I want to make sure my daily objectives are broken down to reach the final objective.

I also plan week to week adjusting on the fly due to the nature of my class. I want to change that process to look at the end result/goal first and plan from there.

I will begin posting the class objectives everyday via powerpoint/google slides at first. I want to see how that works before I put them on the board everyday. I have always asked if the students understand the concept but I'm going to start making sure that they have mastered the concept before moving on.

When I first started, I was definitely in the "survival mode" of planning with trying to think of what activities to plan for the next day. As I've gotten more comfortable, I've been shifting toward the "Begin with the End" mentality. Although it is challenging up front, it's been surprising how much less stress I feel with planning and how much more effective my lessons are becoming. This is still an area I want to continue to grow in.

I have a bulletin board that provides the goals we will be working on that week that the students can always see. I need to be better about pointing out those objectives and emphasizing their relevance. Since I incorporate a lot of Google Slides into my lessons to increase engagement, I want to make sure I also have the objective in a predictable place throughout the lesson not just for the students' benefit but also to remind me of my primarily goal for them to learn.
