Julie was kidnapped as a little girl, and Anna, the mother of Julie, took it very poorly. She was very sad for months on end because she felt like it was her fault that she got kidnapped. Anna also felt like she failed as a parent .In this quote, she explains the kidnapping as the worst thing that ever happened to her. So, from the quote you can tell that was very bad for her, and that nothing has been as bad as this. In the second half of the quote, It talks about how it was bad for Julie too, and how this something that the two share.
This quote is important to the story because it basically sums up everything that happened in the book. It is also important because Julie and her mother never really had a true relationship because she was kidnapped so young, so this is the one thing that they both shared.

In this book review, the reviewer was surprised because she thought the book was going to be fast-paced and action packed. She definitely did not expect the book to not be as personal and slow paced. She gave the book a rating of 4/5, which is a pretty good rating.
I agree with a lot of stuff she said, it shocked me as well. I like more fast paced books, but I thought this book was a good balance between fast and slow. She mentioned how the book is about love, hope, and loss, instead of shock value. The reviewer could also really connect to this book because it took place in her hometown. So it was really cool for her to read because it talked about local landmarks that she is familiar with.

She graduated in 2011 with a PhD in English, from the University of Chicago.

Good as Gone was her first thriller she wrote.

Generally, I thought the book was pretty good. I am more a fan of fast-paced books, and that is what I was expecting with the thriller. But all around, it was good book, with a very interesting and different story line. Rating 3/5.
