Based on your selection, you will complete one of the following:

 

Ø  Twitter: Create 5 tweets to be used for you social media campaign. Each of these should not exceed 280 characters. 3 of your 5 tweets must have a visual component and at least 3 of your 5 tweets should include hashtags. Tweets should not all be repetitive. 

 

Ø  Instagram: Create 2 posts to be used for your social media campaign. Each of these should include a small paragraph of information and have a strong visual component. You will also need to include +5 hashtags for each post.

 

Ø  Facebook: Create 2 posts to be used for your social media campaign. Each of these should include a detailed paragraph of information and have a creative visual component. 

Once you have created the visual components, use a word processing program to complete the written portion of the posts. Insert the pictures you have created and then type out the post below the visual component. When you are done you will have one document for part 2 to submit. This document should include the required number of posts with visual components. 

Your Task: Imagine you and your partner/group are starting a food truck business. Given that you are a start-up business, you need to create a financial plan. The financial plan is a road map that can be used to guide a company into the future. Work as a team to complete the plan. Do not split up the work. Create your plan in a word processing program and clearly label each section with a heading. 

1.     Identify Business Assets: Business assets are the equipment and property you need in order to conduct business. Create a table with 4 columns. In the first column input 20 business assets your food truck business would need. Examples may include: cookware, utensils, technology, the truck, etc. In the second column, using the Internet, identify an estimated cost for each item. In the third column, identify if the price is for a new or used item. In the fourth column, identify the source for your price (ex. Amazon). Finally, add together all of your business assets to figure a total business asset cost.

2.     Determining Needed Capital: Provide a detailed explanation for how you plan to get your needed start-up capital. You may include that a large portion will come from investors you plan to acquire in the business pitches. Other sources may include: savings, loans, investments from friends, family, or others. Make sure this information is as realistic as possible.

 

3.     Describing Start-up Expenses: Start-up expenses are the costs incurred prior to opening a business. Create a table to identify your start-up expenses. Use the total dollar amount of your business assets plus other start-up expenses, ex. food truck wrap, website, uniforms, advertising, initial supplies, legal permits, and licenses. Add together all of your start-up expenses to figure a total cost.

4.     Describing Operating Expenses: Operating expenses are the costs required for operational activities and may be incurred on a regular basis. Create a separate table to compute operating expenses. Operating expenses may include payroll, commissary, Internet, fuel, repairs, etc. In your table, include the name of the expense, cost, and source as you did in your start-up expense table. Figure your operating expenses as a monthly expense. Add together all of your operating expenses to figure a total cost.

 

5.     Describing Financial Records Management: How will your business manage the financial records? What software is needed? Who will maintain the financial records and WHY? Provide a detailed explanation using complete sentences.

6.     Forecasting Future Finances: A financial forecast is an estimate of a business’s financial outlook for each of the next few years. Please see your teacher to draw a slip for your average monthly revenue. You should then use the operating expenses you calculated in #4 to determine net income for the month. Record this information for the next 3 years and write a paragraph that explains what the revenue, operating expenses, and net income mean for your business. 

As your monthly revenue increases, your operating expenses may need to increase as well. For example, if you are selling more, you will need more food and cutlery.

7.     Describing Growth Financing: How do you plan to deal with the growth of the business? Think about this in terms of finances—what will you need to do going forward? Provide a detailed explanation using complete sentences.

Your Task: You will be presenting your food truck concepts in a business pitch. You will provide pertinent content about the venture. The goal is to obtain funding from classmates and guest investors. On the day of presentations, dress as professional as possible. Your portion of the pitch should be approximately 2 minutes. You may not read directly from the slide or notecard. 

Select a presentation software to use to create your pitch. Your presentation should be well-designed, utilize a matching template throughout, and include pictures. All content should match the business plan and be as realistic as possible. Your presentation should be approximately 10 slides and it should be error-free.

·        Explanation of market analysis including target market (geographic, economic, demographic, and psychographic data) and summary of legal issues/ regulations

·        Explanation of industry overview and WHY you believe your particular idea will succeed in the industry

Your Task: You have been hired by a local company to help provide a teambuilding event. they’d like you to organize cooking activities like baking cookies or making professional coffee. They are estimating they will have approximately 25 people at the event. You are also in charge of decoration.

Create a budget for the event and identify your anticipated expenses. A budget is a plan for how you will spend your money. Use the Internet to research realistic costs. As you input each expense, identify it as fixed or variable. A fixed expense will stay the same regardless of the amount of sales. For example, a bubble machine for entertainment would be a fixed expense. A variable expense will change based on your output. For example, if you have a menu and customers can select various food products, your ingredients would be a variable expense because you do not know exactly how much of each item you will sell. In your budget, include the menu items you will offer and anticipated cost of ingredients. 

After you have identified all relevant expenses for the event, calculate the total euros amount for each expense category and the total expenses (including fixed and variable). Finally, determine the percentage of the budget for each expense. Use the following formulas to calculate the percentage:

After you have completed the budget, write a detailed reflection justifying each cost with evidence for why it is needed to successfully cater the event.
