What I emphasized most was that they should always find a buddy they can trust to help them speak about anything that might be bothering them in front of a grown up. They must never be afraid of anyone that might be bullying them in any way but they should always speak up. I also spoke to them about the bullies who one day could have been victims themselves. So if they speak up both situations can be addressed, that of the bully and also that of the victim. They seemed to open up and participated well in the discussion

In my case, encouraging my students to speak their minds when the topic is quite sensitive is the most difficult aspect of dealing with cyberbullying.

Students really care about their peers' opinions and this means that they don't want to disappoint their friends and implies that sometimes they won't do the right thing or tell a friend they're doing wrong for fear of losing them. This could lead to restraining from speaking one's mind in class too. Also, sometimes some topics are an open wound (for example body image, or being rejected by peers) for some students and talking about them can only exacerbate this pain.

The most striking challenge is encouraging and encouraging young people to speak openly about sensitive issues, especially when this concerns them. It often happens that before speaking to the group of students or class always ask the student if he wishes to speak in private or public about his problem.

In our school we already have a peer-support beginning with 12 years old students until 18. We meet with them, 6 teachers, once a week in order to check if there have been any problems and to try to look for solutions

In my opinion, students must feel easy to talk to their teacher and share with them anything that concerns them. If this is achieved on behalf of the teacher then it is easy to set up an effective peer-support scheme.

An effective peer-support scheme is based on students' understanding what school will do for well-being. Having meetings or assemblies with students could be a beginning step about the process. Introduced peer-support system to the students, peer-supporters can apply to join the training sessions. On the other hand, positive school climate could be a key word for implementing those steps. Challenging issue for me to find the right resources and ideas for activities because I have tried different activities the most important part is to practice an activity in the classroom with a joyful! Not enough just teaching:

I think that the most challenging thing is encouraging my students to speak their minds when the topic is quite sensitive. I am older than them, I am an adult and a teacher, so it might be difficult for them to open up and speak their minds. I try to encourage them to do so and show them support because it is important to have the support of an adult and of a teacher in school.

Talking about one's problems, sharing with the teachers /colleagues can be a very difficult thing to do for a lot of children. The reasons are various, but I can state some of the reasons that I identified: shame, fear to be misjudged, difficulty when talking about one's private life.

At first I found it difficult to start this kind of discussion because I knew that all I say and how I say it's important for the future understanding of this situation (cyberbullying). So I talked to people and gathered information on the topic and now I have some resources to help me. But most of all I worry about questions that I won't be able to answer right away.Changes happen all the time, it's impossible to have all the answers, but students are always waiting to get the necessary information when they need it.This is not a reason for me not to act and I hope in time I will learn more and know to answer the most of the questions in order to surpass this challenging aspect.

It is very difficult to know the right answer to any one student's problems, as different situations often require different approaches and it may take a few attempts to find the right solution. This is something very fresh as I happened to discuss it with my pupils this morning since it was part of a discussion in a Religion lesson.
I think "Finding the right resources and ideas for activities to start the discussion with my students" should be the bigger challenge.

In my opinion the most challenging aspect of dealing with cyberbullying in my classrooms is encouraging my students to speak their minds when the topic is quite sensitive. This can only happen if there is the degree of confidence and trust needed to make them feel confident about me and my role but also about their peers who are ready to speak and share experiences about the topic.
This is the reason why if we decide to set up an effective support scheme we have to choose the right peers and to make the students feel comfortable enough to open their minds and talk about every existing or hypothetical issue or problem .

I think that it is really important my students feel comfortable to discuss with me about sensitive topics, therefore a relaxed atmosphere is necessary and also they have to trust the teacher and the group members.

My students are young so often they don't feel comfortable or are too shy to talk about their problems with an adult. So I think the most challenging thing is "Encouraging my students to speak their minds when the topic is quite sensitive".

Encouraging my students to speak their minds when the topic is quite sensitive- I would create motivating atmosphere, trust, to be open to kids and back, to have some workshops about some topics...

Teacher is not the owner of the one and only truth (which is an utopia). If we have created a classroom climate of trust, sharing, discussion, respect then maybe....maybe we are lucky to see our students speak their minds. In such cases the hard thing is to find out who faces problems and make him/her to ask for help and not really what is the "solution"-best case scenario for that problems.

3. Switching from lecturing to discussing with my children. They are often shy or they refuse to talk about their problems openly.

The most challenging item for the listed ones would be number 2- encouraging students to speak their minds when the topic is quite sensitive. Children, at any age, are quite shy when is about topics that they consider shameful or painful .Very close to this item would be number
4- Finding the right resources and ideas for activities to start the discussion with my students, because is extremely important to find the way to their mind and soul and make them talk or confess.

4. I think the whole school has to agree on that and how to do. Agreements and rules could be able to fight with bullying.

The most challenging item is no. 2: Encouraging my students to speak their minds when the topic is quite sensitive. That is at times very difficult, especially when some students have more (negative) experience with the topic and they are ashamed.

Besides it is important for children to have a peaceful and respectful atmosphere in the class, that is very difficult for teachers to obtain and mantain it.
