The behavior is not getting better. The 6Kr class is particularly becoming more challenging, speaking a lot of Chinese and thinking it's funny to say bad things. They are exceptionally loud in the hallway, but a positive is they are always on time.

Being out in the halls has helped students get in the habit of speaking English, and getting to classes on time.

Several students that were struggling in Q1 are improving significantly, and some are even on track to achieve A grades by the end of the year

9Sn have responded really well to opportunities for student choice. They like being able to have a say in projects, etc.

6xe seems to to better when seating is in testing style. They also do best when they have more student centered lessons rather than having the teacher explained to them

8Ce was overly rowdy during class last week, so I had a heart to heart discussion with them explaining what they had done wrong, the consequences of their actions, and the expectations i had going forward. This worked very well. The students are behaving better and are following instructions.

One way to have them speaking English more is to give them more encouragement when we hear them speak and have them doing more oral presentations.

10Li has been consistent improving. Students are arriving to class on time and work is turned in online without any need for reminders.

10Lr has made similar improvements though there are a few students such as Thomas, Cici and Annie who have been absent from class more often.

Homework submission is increasingly problematic, with a few students repeatedly failing to submit their work on time.

There are minor behavioural concerns with 8Cd, but a more pressing issue is the persistent use of Chinese both in and outside the classroom.

I am happy with all my groups. Grade 6Kr is by far the most challeging class I have. Extremely talkative and disruptive. I am trying to find the most impactful videos, projects and resources because when it comes to behavior it really matters.

Students in classes 8Ce and 8Cd have made significant progress in discipline, while Horace and Andrew in 8Cr continue to disregard classroom rules.

Overall 8Ce have improved as a class in terms of behaviour and academics. I am getting more homework - although not always on time. Jessica has improved enormously; Cassie, Wilson, Rain, Olivia are working better. Victoria is the only concern at the moment. She is difficult to engage and under achieving, and has a ... combatative approach in class.

8Cd is tricky because Howard and Max in particular have an incredibly short attention span. Howard can distract the whole class and Max is in dreamland much of the time. These are the two students I am most concerned about.

9Sr are still the class most likely to spend the whole lesson looking at their feet, but they try! They have been working well.

Overall not bad - there is a positive attitude and better discipline, with the notable exception of Elena, who has plummeted back down to her Q1 persona. She improved a lot in Q2, but seemed to lose all she had gained during the New Year holiday. Did anyone else notice a changé? Jenson and Jason are really coming on.
